Over 65 Flu Vaccinations  8th November 2018

Please note that today we received our

final delivery of the over 65 flu vaccines.

We have tried to order some more but

there is no more available to order.

We will not be arranging a walk-in flu

clinic as we are unlikely to have sufficient

stock available. We will give flu vaccines

to patients who book a  specific flu

vaccine appointment or on an ad hoc

basis during other appointments until we

run out of stock.

We advise patients to try their chemist

or local supermarket, as they seem to

have the over 65 flu vaccine in stock.

We apologise for this inconvenience.

Thank you for your patience.

Patient Update August 2018 (Next one due in November)

Please find following the latest update on what is happening at the practice. It has been a very busy quarter.

On 1st August 2018 Dr Sue Mills reduced her sessions to Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Stefano Capozzi a GP Registrar joined the practice in August and will with us for 12 months. Dr Rosie Byars a year 1 GP also joined the practice in August and will be with us for 4 months.

Phoebe Welham joined the practice at the end of July as a practice nurse. Cheryl Pike our lead nurse has reduced her working days to Tuesdays and Wednesdays in preparation for retiring next year. Kirsty Bush returned from maternity leave in July and will be focussing on her Nurse Practitioner role (in between a GP and Practice Nurse).

All our new reception staff have settled in now and are getting to grips with the complicated world of General Practice.

Modernisation work to Dr Ather and Dr Anjum’s room (Room 1) is complete. For those of you who have used room 1, we hope it meets with your approval. We intend to modernise all the consulting rooms.

A number of lights in the practice have been replaced with LED daylight lights.

We have applied for the 2018-19 Minor Improvement Grant to build another consulting room, modernise the reception desk and install automatic doors in the entrance. We are expecting to find out in September if we have been successful.

Patient Feedback

Your feedback is really important to us because it helps us understand what you want and guides us to improve the services we offer. You can feedback using the Friends and Family cards at reception or via NHS Choices (please help us increase our rating on NHS Choices).

Thank you for your continued support.

Hove Medical Centrewas built in 1990 and prior to that the partnership practised from a surgery in Sackville Road and a branch surgery in Hangleton. The branch surgery was a tiny area in what is now the dental surgery next door!

Approximately 9,000 National Health Service patients are currently registered with the practice.

The current non-limited partnership provides general medical services under contract with NHS England, South (South East), York House, 18-20 Massetts Road, Horley, Surrey, RH6 7DE.

Hove Medical Centre is a training practice and is also involved in the teaching of students from Brighton and Sussex Medical School. The students are placed with the surgery at intervals throughout the academic year and you will always be asked if you are willing to have them present during your consultation.

We hope that you will find this new website helpful and that you will let us know if you have any ideas about how to improve it. The website is designed to be a simple and user- friendly guide to our services with some helpful links to other sources of help and information.
